Computer Boot Times

After reading this article on half-hour computer boot times, I decided to test the boot time(s) of my laptop (2-year-old MacBook running Mac OS X 10.5.5 with a 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo processor and 2 GB of RAM).

Restart: 48 seconds

This was the time it took from hitting Restart

to seeing all the items in the Menu Bar appear.

Shut Down: 42 seconds

This was the time it took from pressing the Power Button (after shutting the computer down)

to seeing all the items in the Menu Bar appear.
